Furnace ModEco 4-60 PS
Not always and to be more accurate, most often, feedstock with a moisture content close to the natural one, which is above 55 % is used for charring. Our basic model of ModEсo 4-60 charcoal burning kiln is included into the product line, but it is inefficient when the relative moisture content of the feedstock exceeds 25 %. That is why, Synergy Dream has designed a wood pre-drying complex. So a new model of charcoal burning kiln appeared — ModEсo 4-60 PS, which is described below.
The main parts of the kiln are a hearth and two pyrolysis sections accommodating two stationary retorts each.
The hearth is a metal enclosure, which walls and bottom are lined with high temperature insulant. The following materials are used for lining: ceramic fibre with an operating temperature of up to 1,250 0C, ceramic plates with an operating temperature of up to 1,250 0C, and firebrick ShA 5.
Pyrolysis sections also represent metal enclosures, with retorts installed inside (retort is a vessel where thermal decomposition of wood occurs). Retorts are made of steel 09 G2S, 12 mm thick. Pyrolysis section walls, where the operating temperature reaches 600 0C are lined with ceramic fibre with an operating temperature of up to 1,050 0C.
The pre-drying complex is composed of four individual drying sections powered by the used heat transfer medium. Removable drying baskets provide the feedstock movement from a sawing-splitting area to the drying area, with further feedstock movement to the retort charge area. The pre-drying complex decreases the moisture content of the feedstock by 30–40 %.
The ModEсo 4-60 PS charcoal kiln is operated only with the ACS (automated control system). The ACS monitors operating modes of the kiln and maintains temperatures within set ranges. The ACS also monitors temperature modes in drying sections and controls them.
