ModEco 4-60 S

ModEco 4-60 S is a new furnace model developed by the company “Synergy-Dream” specifically for the carbonization of small-sized raw materials, such as wood chips, small waste from woodworking industries, walnut shells, fruit tree stones, and so on.

During the carbonization of walnut shells on our pilot model, charcoal was obtained with the following quality indicators:

  • Mass fraction of carbon – 81.6%
  • Mass fraction of ash – 2.8%
  • Moisture content – 4.8%
  • Volatile matter yield – 15.6%

This furnace looks similar to our other models; however, it incorporates a series of engineering solutions for the carbonization of small-sized wood. The design of the furnace includes a feed hopper for raw materials, which are loaded into the retort via an inclined conveyor.

The main difference between this furnace and the others is the retort design, developed specifically for the efficient carbonization of wood fractions smaller than 50 mm. For charcoal production in this furnace, raw materials with a moisture content of up to 25% and particle sizes ranging from 10-12 mm to 30-40 mm are used.

The main components, as in all furnaces in the ModEco range, are the combustion chamber and two pyrolysis units, each containing two stationary retorts.
The combustion chamber is a metal casing, with walls and a base lined with high-temperature insulation – fiber and LYTX plates with an operating temperature of up to 1250 °C, as well as SHA 5 refractory brick.

As in all ModEco 4-60 series furnaces, wood pyrolysis takes place in four retorts – metal containers located within the two pyrolysis units. The retorts are made of 09G2S grade steel, with a thickness of 12 mm. The walls of the pyrolysis units, where the working temperature reaches up to 600 °C, are lined with ceramic fiber capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1050 °C.
The furnace operates only with an automatic control system (ACS), which monitors operating modes and maintains temperatures within specified parameters.

Charcoal should be unloaded into metal containers known as quenchers. Metal stabilizers are used for stabilizing the charcoal. You can buy the ModEco 4-60 S charcoal furnace complete with these items. The quenchers and stabilizers ensure high technological efficiency when the cooling and stabilization regulations are followed.
